RUFA Staunton RocksMarch 6th and 7th, 2020
All US based Up For Air Series Events are cancelled for 2021
The Up For Air Series is a collection of endurance events created to amplify informed dialogue and empower organizations actively working on air quality solutions. Proceeds from Up For Area events are directed at carefully selected non-profit groups who demonstrate high value influence strategies. The race platform is used to expose participants and the general public to science-based material about the importance of healthy air. All events are conducted with a minimal footprint philosophy.
Now in its third year, the Colorado edition of Running Up for Air (RUfA) offers a unique mountain endurance challenge for runners willing to step up in the ongoing effort to improve the quality of our air. Like the Wasatch front in Utah, the front range of Colorado, extending from Pueblo in the south to Ft. Collins in the north, is subjected to unsightly and unhealthy winter air, due, in large part, to regular inversions. RUFA is a powerful way for athletes to use their passion and dedication to raise both awareness and funds to support the meaningful work of carefully vetted nonprofits focused on improving air quality.
For 2020, Colorado’s RUFA is moving to an exciting new location, Staunton State Park, about 45 minutes from central Denver, with magnificent trails and stunning views. Staunton enables the Colorado nonprofit that organizes RUFA, Suffer Better to offer a longer and more interesting loop and to add a 24-hour event to the options available to runners.
Scheduled for March 6 and 7, 2020, RUFA-Staunton, offers runners 3, 6,12, or 24 hour events. Registration is now open at: https://runsignup.com/Race/CO/Pine/RUFASTAUNTON.
About Suffer Better
Suffer Better is a CO-based nonprofit that offers the community of endurance athletes opportunities to give back to preserve and protect their natural environment and support local communities through running events, educational programs and grants.
Every single day, we recognize that we are exceedingly fortunate and privileged to be able to do the things we do – run, ride, hike, play – in the outdoor places we do. And we believe that comes with the responsibility to fight to protect our natural environment, support those less fortunate and put our efforts to good use to improve our world.
Our mission is to: Tap the inexhaustible power, focus, dedication, and commitment of the endurance athlete community to preserve and protect our natural environment, work with and support local nonprofits, and improve local communities.
RUFA-Staunton is one way that our community can accomplish great things.
